Mia Boulukos
I am a New York based artist specializing in content creation, sustainable fashion design and painting with a BFA from the University of Wisconsin Madison.
Well versed in many mediums such as fine arts, fashion illustration and construction, sustainability, digital art, Adobe Cloud, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, After Effects, typography, photography and more, I am constantly creating and lending a helping hand in various aspects of my work experiences.
Working as a production assistant for Carina NY, private label garment manufacturers in the heart of NYC’s garment district, I have learned the production needs of different designers from start-ups to high end brands domestically. Being in a factory environment, I have experience with sustainability and making accessories of discarded fabrics and materials, working towards a more circular production model.

Previously having the opportunity to study in Florence, Italy at Santa Reparata International School of Art broaden my design and pattern making skills to develop a growing interest in fashion design, production and sustainability .
This lead me to work for New York based fashion designer Thakoon Panichgul and assisted on the launch of his new brand Hommegirls, I was fortunate enough to assist on all aspects of magazine, digital and social media production for this brand focused on women wearing mens clothing in a feminine way.
Still having a great interest in fine arts, I have worked as a freelance painter for Staged to Sell Home, I create large abstract acrylic paintings to be hung in New York City apartments that are being staged before being sold. Through this, I have expanded my portfolio to abstract large scale work, and learned about art creation for interior design.
Through my own creative endeavor, I created my brand ByBoulukos to combine all of these interest. Beginning with the project Take More Nudes, I encourage women to accept and appreciate both the beauty and imperfections in their bodies, by taking more nude photographs of themselves. In continuation of my previous work #SENDNUDES, TAKE MORE NUDES celebrates the female figure through commissioned paintings of these photos so that women can have their bodies as a piece of unique art.  People are also asked the accompanying question "Why do you take nudes?" with the answer as the title, and on display next to the painting. There are no requirements or regulations for these photographs and anyone can submit them to my Instagram @byboulukos, or email byboulukos@gmai.com.  Take More Nudes also includes one-of-a-kind upcycled vintage hand-painted clothing items, for sale on shopbyboulukos.com
